The Head, Heart, & Hands: April 24th, 2022

  -

Hey Central Hope! Welcome to The Weekly Worship, where we will lay out the songs for the upcoming Sunday and offer a way to worship our God with our Head, Heart and Hands. God has commanded us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. So each week, we highlight an upcoming song and reflect on how it engages our Head, Heart, and Hand. Our aim in providing this is to help prepare you to participate in the worship of our great God! We hope you can enjoy these songs (through our Spotify playlist) throughout your week on your commute to work, in the line at school, or at home!

This week we will be singing:

  • All Creatures of Our God and King
  • Before the Throne of God Above
  • My Worth Is Not In What I Own
  • Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me

This week, we will reflect on Before the Throne of God Above, written by Charitie Lees Bancroft in 1863.

“The great unchangeable I AM, the King of glory and of grace”

Worship God with your head and reflect on his majesty in Psalm 24:10, “Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah”

“Because a sinless Savior died, my sinful soul is counted free”

Worship God with your heart and embrace the confidence given to us in Hebrews 10:19-22, “Therefore brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

“Upward I look and see Him there who made an end of all my sin”

Worship God with your hands by practicing Hebrews 7:25, “Consequently, he (Jesus) is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”

See you Sunday! – Justin
