The Head, Heart, & Hands: May 1st, 2022

Rachel Cantu   -

Hey Central Hope!

At Central Hope, we believe our daily worship of God should engage the head, heart, and hand. God has commanded us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. So each week, we will highlight an upcoming song and reflect on how it engages our Head (mind), Heart (soul), and Hand (actions). Our goal is to help prepare you to participate in the worship of our great God. Enjoy these songs throughout your week on your commute to work, while you are running errands or cooking dinner in your home with your children.

This week we will be singing:

  • Praise to the Lord the Almighty
  • King of Kings
  • Great Are You Lord
  • The Solid Rock
  • Nothing But the Blood

This week, we will reflect on Nothing But the Blood, written by Robert Lowry in 1876.

“Nothing can for sin atone, not of good that I have done, nothing but the blood of Jesus”

Worship God with your head and reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice in Isaiah 53:5, “He was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds, we are healed.”

“What can wash away my sin, what can make me whole again, nothing but the blood of Jesus”

Worship God with your heart and feel made new along with Isaiah 1:16:18, “Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.”

“This is all my hope and peace, nothing but the blood of Jesus”

Worship God with your hands with Ephesians 2:13-17 by finding your peace and hope in Christ alone, “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, killing hostility.”

See you Sunday! – Justin
