The Head, Heart, & Hands: May 22nd, 2022

Rachel Cantu   -

Hey Central Hope! Welcome to The Weekly Worship, where we will lay out the songs for the upcoming Sunday and offer a way to worship our God with our Head, Heart and Hands.

At Central, we believe our daily worship of God should engage the head, heart, and hand. We say this because God has commanded us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. So each week, we will highlight an upcoming song and reflect on how it engages our Head, Heart, and Hand. Our aim in providing this is to help prepare you to participate in the worship of our great God! We hope you can enjoy these songs throughout your week on your commute to work, in the line at school, or at home!

This week we will be singing (check out our Spotify playlist):

  • Christ Is Risen
  • Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery
  • Holy Holy Holy
  • Crowns – NEW SONG!!
  • Blessed Assurance

This week, we will reflect on Blessed Assurance, written by Fanny Crosby in 1873.

“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine”

Worship God with your head and remember that Jesus has claimed you in Colossians 3:3, “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”

“I in the Savior am happy and blessed”

Worship God with your heart and feel the fullness of joy with Psalm 16:11, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hands are pleasures forevermore.”

“This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long”

Worship God with your hands and continuously praise God with Hebrews 13:15, “Through him (Jesus) then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.”

“Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” –
Jude 1:24-25

See you Sunday! – Justin
