The Head, Heart, & Hands: June 5th, 2022

Rachel Cantu   -

Hey Central Hope! Welcome to The Weekly Worship, where we will lay out the songs for the upcoming Sunday and offer a way to worship our God with our Head, Heart and Hands.

At Central, we believe our daily worship of God should engage the head, heart, and hand. We say this because God has commanded us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. So each week, we will highlight an upcoming song and reflect on how it engages our Head, Heart, and Hand. Our aim in providing this is to help prepare you to participate in the worship of our great God! We hope you can enjoy these songs throughout your week on your commute to work, in the line at school, or at home!

This week we will be singing (check out our Spotify playlist):

  • 10,000 Reasons
  • The Lord Is My Salvation
  • Psalm 23 (Surely Goodness)
  • Lord I Need You
  • Jesus Paid It All

This week, we will reflect on Psalm 23, written by Shane and Shane in 2015.

“He restores my soul and leads me on for His name”

Worship God with your head and reflect on God’s goodness in Psalm 31:3, “For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me.”

“In green pastures he makes me lie down”

Worship God with your heart rest in safety and Isaiah 34:15-16, I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep and I myself will make them lie down, declares the LORD. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice.”

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil”

Worship God with your hands and know God is with you as you with as in Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”

“Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” –
Jude 1:24-25
