The Head, Heart, & Hands: June 26th, 2022
Hey Central Hope! Welcome to The Weekly Worship, where we will lay out the songs for the upcoming Sunday and offer a way to worship our God with our Head, Heart and Hands.
At Central, we believe our daily worship of God should engage the head, heart, and hand. We say this because God has commanded us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. So each week, we will highlight an upcoming song and reflect on how it engages our Head, Heart, and Hand. Our aim is to prepare you to participate in the worship of our great God! We hope you can enjoy these songs throughout your week on your commute to work, in the line at school, or at home!
This week we will be singing (check out our Spotify playlist):
- Praise to the Lord the Almighty
- Christ Will Come Again
- King of Kings
- Yet Not I But Through Christ in Me
- Psalm 84
This week, we will reflect on Christ Will Come Again, another one of my personal favorites I’ve learned since attending Central Hope. It was written by Shane and Shane in 2021.
“Now risen and exalted high is Jesus Christ the Savior”
Worship God with your head and reflect on the victory that belongs to Jesus with Philippians 2:9-11, “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
“That tragic act of love has paid the price my sin demanded”
Worship God with your heart and praise him for the free gift of life he has given us in 1 John 2:2, “He (Jesus) is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.”
“The gates of New Jerusalem will open wide to greet us, and every tongue on earth will sing all glory unto Jesus”
Worship God with your hands and prepare to join with all creation for when our God dwells with us in Revelation 21:2-3, “And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them as their God.’”
“Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” –
Jude 1:24-25
